RATIONAL USE OF BY-PRODUCTS OF THE CHEMICAL ENTERPRISES FOR RECEIVING OF SULFOCATIONS

Получен новый монофункциональный сульфокатионит на основе стирольно-фурфурольного полимера, обладающий повышенными эксплуатационными свойствами по сравнению с известными ионитами поликонденсационного типа.

Белгілі поликонденсациондық үлгідегі иониттермен салыстырғанда жоғары эксплуатациялық қасиеттерге ие стиролды-фурфурды полимер негізіндегі жаңа монофункционалды сульфокатионит алынды.

ABSTRACT

It was received new monofunctional sulfocationite on the basis of styrene-furfural polymer, possessing the raised operational properties in comparison with known ionites of polycondensation type. The influence of a ratio of styrene to furfural on properties of received sulfocationites was studied.

In connection with declaration of independence of Republic of Uzbekistan the great problems in the field of development of chemical sciences, especially in the field of perfection of scientific bases for creation of new polymeric materials were determined. Thus the maximal significance is attached to use of an accessible and economic source of raw materials, increase of efficiency of their manufacture in a view of achievement of modern chemistry. Among huge assortment of polymeric materials special value is given to receiving of ion-exchange polymers. From the ecological and economic point of view it is determined by theoretical and practical importance of ionites in various areas of a science and techniques. Till now imported into Uzbekistan from the CIS countries expensive industrial ionites, especially polycondensation type, possess a number of the lacks limiting opportunities and spheres of their application. Low thermal and chemical stability, low selectivity and mechanical durability concern to the most essential lacks of known marks of ionites. Many polycondensation ionites differ not satisfactory kinetic properties. In this connection the big practical interest represents search of new ionites, possessing raised thermal and chemical stability, selectivity to ions of rare and nonferrous metals (molybdenum, tungsten, rhenium, copper, cobalt, nickel, cadmium, etc.), having a great value for the industry of our Republic. Receiving of ion-exchange polymers is directed on creation of effective ways of modification of existing ionites with the purpose of giving to them the greater permeability providing high speed of an exchange at preservation of such important physical and chemical parameters as thermal and chemical stability, and mechanical durability.

Despite of wide assortment of industrial ionites, search of new types of ionites, which would provide fast mass transfer and would be suitable for extraction of low concentration of various elements are one of actual problems of water-preparation, power system and hydrometallurgy.

Polymers on the basis of derivatives of furan - furfural represent the big practical interest. For their manufacture in Uzbekistan there are huge resources of vegetative raw material, including waste agricultural and ginning industries. High polyfunctionality of furan compounds has caused their use for receiving of the polymers possessing universal chemical stability and raised thermo stability. The majority of sulfocations, especially polycondensation type, receive by sulfonation of phenol-formaldehyde resin. These cationites differ low parameters of operational properties because of presence in structure of phenolic hydroxyl groups except for sulfogroups and are inclined to hydrolysis [1].

From data of Table 1 is visible that sulfocations with optimum parameters are received at mole ratio of styrene to furfural 1:1.

Development of a simple and effective way for receiving of monofunctional sulfocationite (KU-FS) on the basis of styrene-furfural polymer possessing raised operational properties in comparison with known ionites of polycondensation type is an actual problem [2].

The influence of a ratio of styrene to furfural on properties of received cationites has been studied. Furfural at interaction with styrene is not only condensing, but also bridge creator. The basic sorption, physical and chemical properties of received cationites depend on its concentration. The basic properties of sulfocations received at mole ratio of styrene to furfural are resulted in Table 1.

On the basis of the lead researches the optimum conditions of carrying out of synthesis of styrene-furfural polymer are established: reaction temperature - 90°С, concentration of catalyst ZnCl2 - 0.07 moles on mole of furfural and mole parity of styrene to furfural 1:1.
